Customer Advisory – Update on Temporary Embargo Issued for Laredo & Brownsville Gateways

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has communicated that railway processing operations at Eagle Pass, TX and El Paso, TX resumed beginning December 22, 2023 at 14:00 EST.

CPKC’s temporary embargoes KCSM003223 and KCSM003323 impacting southbound intermodal empty containers and certain agricultural commodity traffic destined to Mexico remain in effect at this time. Both embargoes include a permit provision and embargoes can be rescinded or altered at any time.

Normal operations continue through the CPKC Laredo and Brownsville gateways for all other rail traffic.
